The City of Greenacres and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are collaborating to enhance community safety by installing state-of-the-art digital speed safety cameras, aiming to reduce traffic violations and collisions, and promote safety around our schools.
That’s why Greenacres has partnered with Verra Mobility to use school zone speed safety cameras at 16 locations near the city’s schools to decrease potential violations. This effort aims to protect our students from reckless drivers, enabling them to travel safely to and from school.
In order to deliver the highest quality water to customers, Palm Beach County Water Utilities (PBCWUD) requires periodic line flushing and temporary treatment modification. These modifications to the disinfection process are routine and an industry best practice as a precautionary measure to maintain the water quality.
From January 2 through January 22, 2026, PBCWUD will be using free chlorine as opposed to chloramine for water treatment. This is only temporary and the water is safe to drink. PBCWUD follows a process which adheres to all regulatory standards.

On Wednesday, July 23, Greenacres Fire Rescue held a Change of Command Ceremony, a time-honored tradition that symbolizes the formal transfer of leadership within the department.
This significant event marked the transition from Fire Chief Brian Fuller to Fire Chief Phillip Konz.
Honoring Chief Brian FullerChief Fuller has led Greenacres Fire Rescue with dedication and distinction for the past four years. Under his leadership, the department achieved major milestones in safety, training, and community service.
Greenacres Fire Rescue Residential Lock Box program allows participants to safely leave a key on their front door in a small, safe-like box that can be accessed with a master key that only firefighters have. That means firefighters can get in quickly after a medical emergency or fall.

The Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan is Greenacres’ strategic roadmap in coordination with The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (TCRPC) to reduce and ultimately eliminate traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways. This plan reflects our commitment to the national Vision Zero movement—an ambitious yet achievable goal to ensure no one dies or is seriously injured in traffic collisions.
