Starting a Business
The process to apply for a NEW business or rental property tax receipt requires you to submit the non-refundable business tax fee, as determined by the type of business or rental property using our fee calculation worksheet, along with your application. You can find the fee calculation worksheet on our website along with our applications or you can request a copy to be emailed. Just as we cannot accept an application that does not have all required documents, we will not be able to accept the business tax receipt application without payment. Please note that initial payments cannot be made online. Payments must be made by check or money order and should be made payable to the City of Greenacres with the name of your business, as listed on your application, or the address of your rental property, written on the memo line and must be mailed or hand delivered to 5800 Melaleuca Lane, Greenacres, FL 33463.

BUSINESS TAX APPLICATION SUBMITTALS
Applications and all required documentation can either be mailed or hand delivered with the non-refundable business tax fee as determined by the type of business or rental property using our fee calculation worksheet to 5800 Melaleuca Ln, Greenacres, FL 33463.
Upon final approval, the applicant will be notified via email with further instructions.
Inspections are conducted by our Fire Department. (Note: You must apply for the business tax receipt and be approved before any inspection can be requested.)
***AS OF 01/22/2024, RENTAL INSPECTIONS ARE NOW DONE BY AFFIDAVIT***
To schedule an inspection, by email only, email fireinspections@greenacresfl.gov between 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday thru Friday (no inspections can be scheduled by phone). Please note that inspection dates and times may vary from time to time. If a date and/or time is not available, you will be notified.
Please leave the following details when requesting an inspection:
- Date you want the inspection
- Contact name and phone number (must be onsite for the inspection)
- Name and address of the business
- Copy of receipt for proof of payment and approval email
