Susy Diaz, Deputy Mayor

Susy Díaz is a proud Palm Beach County native and first-generation American who has spent nearly three (3) decades making a meaningful impact in the community. Elected to the Greenacres City Council in 2022, she is deeply committed to fostering positive change and strengthening community ties.

A graduate of both Palm Beach State College and Florida Atlantic University, Susy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Social Sciences, and a Master of Arts in Political Science, graduating magna cum laude. She also holds a certification in Ethnic Studies.

A passionate advocate for education, Susy has served as Executive Director of the Middle School of the Arts Foundation since 2013. In this role, she secures vital resources to enhance educational experiences for students at Bak MSOA. Through the Foundation, she also supports local artists by fostering employment opportunities, enriching the region’s cultural landscape. Her commitment to education led her to spearhead the creation of the Greenacres Education Advisory Committee.

Susy’s leadership extends across many community organizations. She is an alumna of Leadership Palm Beach County and a member of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches. She also serves on the boards of the Business Development Board, the Transportation Planning Agency, the Housing Leadership Council, and the Palm Beach County League of Cities. She is Vice-Chair of the Hispanic Human Resource Council and an active member of the Hunger Relief Advisory Council, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Advisory Council, and The Palm Beaches Community Values Committee.

Her dedication has been recognized with numerous honors, including the LPBC President’s Award, Hispanic Women of Distinction Award, Esperanza Award, Triunfo Award, Luciano Martinez Humanitarian Award, and the Oakley Service Award. She was also a finalist for the LPBC Leadership Excellence Award.

Susy lives in Greenacres with her husband and their blended family. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and embracing all things creative.
