Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals

Duties:

  • Rules on appeals of determinations made by the City Building Official and Fire Marshal’s interpretations of the City of Greenacres Building and Fire Code.

Membership:

  • May consists of nine (9) total members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council:
    • Seven (7) regular members
    • Two (2) alternate members if appointed
    • Qualified individuals with experience and training in building construction, applicants must be:

      • a layperson 

      • architect

      •  engineer

      •  realtor 

      • general contractor

      •  fire code protection contractor

      •  fire code enforcement professional

    • The members cannot be City employees.

    • City residency is preferred.

Terms:

  • Members serve 4-year terms.

Meetings: 

  • Conducted on an as-needed basis.
