Volunteer Program

Volunteer

The City of Greenacres supports and recognizes the value of volunteers. Individuals, aged 15 years and up, are eligible to volunteer with the City of Greenacres including (but not limited to): residents, non-residents, and students.

Volunteering offers great opportunities to:

  • Get on-the-job training
  • Give back to the Greenacres community
  • Put solutions into practice and leave a legacy
  • Make friends with similar interests
  • Learn about social and environmental issues firsthand
  • Build skills for your resume, no experience necessary

Volunteers can assist in a number of departments, on an ongoing or as needed basis. Below are possible Volunteer Opportunities.

Please email ehr@greenacresfl.gov to request a Volunteer application or download application found below.  To ensure accessibility to City documents and records, if you encounter issues or require assistance, please contact us at Cityclerk@greenacresfl.gov or call 561-642-2000.

PVSA

President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA), approved by the President of the United States and created to recognize Americans who have made a significant commitment to volunteer service. The City of Greenacres has been approved as an “Official Certifying Organization” for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards.

Presidential recognition sets you apart from your peers. It is a tremendous honor. Even though you may not seek recognition, your example can deliver a powerful message that encourages others to take action. Along with the ultimate honor of presidential recognition, recipients will receive a personalized certificate, an official pin, medallion or coin, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States annually.

Volunteers who have met the criteria for the President’s Volunteer Service Award shall be invited by the Department Director to be presented the award(s) by the Mayor and City Council at a City Council meeting scheduled in the month of April.

For additional information please contact Community & Recreation Services or Youth Programs.
