Cybersecurity Awareness

Most people in today's society rely on inter-connected technology to some degree, and a great many of us would find it difficult to get through a day without connecting to something on the Internet, whether it's for email, banking, social networking or shopping. The number of people with sensitive information that is directly - and in many cases very easily - accessible on the Internet has exploded in recent years, and each one of us is a potential target for malicious entities, who work hard to take advantage of them for their own benefit.

There are several organizations whose mission is to educate the public and take measures to keep the Internet safe from these bad actors. The City of Greenacres supports their efforts and we are doing our part to increase Cybersecurity Awareness amongst our populations. City staff receives ongoing training in this area, and the resources listed below contain information that can help our residents and businesses stay safe from the bad side of the Internet. It's up to all of us to keep those who want to abuse the wonderful resource that is the Internet from winning!
