Mayor Joel Flores challenges Wes Kain and Hot Spot Cool Zone Kids to Basketball Challenge Tomorrow! Vanilla Ice is Special Guest!

At 7:00 pm tomorrow night, November 17th, in the Greenacres Community Center, there will be an exciting basketball game between the Hot Zone Cool Spot Youth Programs Students along with Mayor Joel Flores against Vanilla Ice Project Co-star and former Greenacres resident Wes Kain. The star of the Vanilla Ice Project, Rob VanWinkle, will be attending and playing basketball with the kids!  

Wes Kain has visited the Community Center Youth Programs numerous times in the past year and a half and purchased all of their wish list items last December.  When he gave back packs to all of the kids in May for the summer, the teens stated they wanted to see the Mayor challenge Wes to a basketball game on the teams with them. Mayor Flores was a youth coach prior to being Mayor. This should be a fun and exciting match up!

The Cool Zone program is for middle school students and the Hot Zone program is the high school students. Come join us and support the kids!  In addition to the kids, thee Mako Cheerleaders will be cheering both teams on and providing a half-time show.  DJ Johnny Quest has donated his time and tunes to keep the crowd pumped up.  Peter Piper Pizza, a new restaurant that just opened in Greenacres, has donated twenty pizzas for the kids.  Hoffman’s Chocolates “Sweet Ride” Ice Cream Truck will be in the parking lot for purchase.

Everyone is asked to bring a canned good as a donation for admission. Mayor Flores is excited to see so much support from the Community and to Mr. Kain for giving back. “Greenacres is a great place to be and raise a family. I support our Youth Programs and want them to grow up to be successful and know that they matter to us.”
