Our Brand, Our Story: The City of Greenacres Branding Initiative
Why a New Brand Matters?
The City of Greenacres has nearly completed an exciting journey to create a brand identity that reflects who we are today and where we are headed.
Our previous brand served us well, but as our community evolves, so must our story. A strong city brand helps residents feel connected, attracts new opportunities, supports economic development, and communicates our unique identity to everyone. This new identity will reflect the energy, pride, and potential of Greenacres as we approach our Centennial and beyond.
The Branding Process
The City partnered with North Star Place Branding + Marketing, a nationally recognized firm specializing in civic branding. The process began in August 2024 and continued over a ten-month period, guided by deep research, collaboration, and transparency.
Key phases included:
- Discovery & Research: We began uncovering Greenacres’ unique strengths and challenges through in-depth analysis, site visits, community focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and comprehensive data review.
- Community Engagement: The brand was built with input from those who know Greenacres best, our residents, business owners, students, and City staff. Surveys, meetings, and collaborative sessions ensured the new identity reflects the voices and values of our community.
- Creative Development: Insights from research and engagement were translated into a compelling brand story, complete with themes, messaging, and a vibrant visual identity that celebrates Greenacres’ authentic character.
- Strategic Rollout Planning: Finally, practical tools and guidelines were developed to ensure consistent and effective use of the brand across all departments, communications, and community touchpoints.

Community Engagement
Community feedback was at the heart of this project:
- Focus Groups with residents, business owners, and civic leaders.
- One-on-One Interviews with key stakeholders.
- Public Survey reaching residents and non-residents.
- Ongoing Updates to ensure transparency and inclusion.

The Brand Strategy
This brand is more than just a logo or a color palette, it’s a story, a promise, and a platform for everyone who calls Greenacres home or visits our community.
The strategy reflects:
- A welcoming, hardworking community rooted in tradition
- Access to growth for families, small businesses, and future generations
- Natural beauty and outdoor living at the heart of our daily experience
- Pride in progress, without losing sight of where we came from
What’s Next?
The new brand will be gradually introduced across City communications, signage, and materials starting August/September 2025, leading up to the Greenacres Centennial Celebration in 2026.
