Judith Dugo, Councilmember

Councilmember Judith Dugo

Councilmember Judith Dugo was first elected to the City Council in March 2014 and was re-elected most recently in March 2022. She was voted Deputy Mayor by her peers on the Council in 2020 and served two (2) terms. Prior to being elected, she served on various City boards and committees and has been a resident of District III for 26 years.

Councilmember Dugo’s professional background was as the owner of a High Tech Corporation in Rochester, New York.  She recently retired from Guardians Credit Union after serving 19 years as a Compliance Officer.  She currently serves on their Board of Directors as Treasurer. She has used her financial acumen and expertise to bolster the financial health of the City and has suggested and promoted fiscal changes that save both the taxpayers and the City money.

The economic health of the City and its businesses has been an important issue for Councilmember Dugo since being elected.  She has participated in countless City events promoting the local business community and supports new business opportunities for the City. She supported and encouraged the merger of the City’s police department with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in 2016. Statistics have shown a steady decline in crime within the City since the merger and the partnership with PBSO has proven to be invaluable. She is a proud supporter of the City’s Fire Department, one of the busiest in Palm Beach County. Councilmember Dugo supported the use of surtax funds to provide new vehicles and equipment for Fire Rescue to support their operations and ensure their continued safety.

As the City continues to grow to almost 45,000 residents, Councilmember Dugo has advocated for improvements to the City’s blighted medians through the addition of irrigation and landscaping to beautify the City. Additionally, since there is a growing demand for the Pickleball Sport, Ms. Dugo has requested to have Pickleball Courts installed within the City to support the demand.

Councilmember Dugo serves as a member of the Palm Beach County League of Cities Educational Scholarship Committee and has served in various capacities on the Riverbridge Homeowners Association.  She is married to a retired Army Colonel and strongly supported the creation of the Veterans Memorial at City Hall and the City’s annual Veteran’s Day event honoring all those who have served.
