Susy Diaz, Councilmember
Councilmember Susy Díaz was elected to the Greenacres City Council in March 2022.
She is a Palm Beach County native and first-generation American who has been serving her community for nearly three decades. Susy is a proud graduate of both Palm Beach State College and Florida Atlantic University holding a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in Political Science and Social Sciences, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Political Science, magna cum laude. She also holds a certification in Ethnic Studies.
Susy’s professional career has spanned multiple sectors including public, private, and not-for-profit. In 2000, she was appointed by the Mayor of West Palm Beach to oversee the Mayor’s Response Team. She worked first-hand with the City’s department heads to resolve constituent matters expeditiously. During her time at the City, Susy also worked in the Code Compliance Division where she oversaw the administrative team, as well as liaised with the legal department on cases referred to the Special Master. After working under two mayoral administrations, Susy entered the not-for-profit sector as Associate Director for the American Cancer Society. She was appointed as Advocacy Lead for Palm Beach County, forging relationships with our local, state, and federal leaders. In 2013, Susy was named Executive Director for the Middle School of the Arts Foundation where she works today, securing resources that provide educational enrichment for the students, as well as employment income for local artists.
She is an active alumna of Leadership Palm Beach County, a member of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, serves as Treasurer for the Reserve at Summit HOA, is a Board Member for the Hispanic Human Resource Council, and serves as an Advisory Councilmember of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County.
