Public Service Tax
The City of Greenacres’ Code of Ordinances requires every seller of electricity, water, bottled gas (natural or manufactured), or telecommunications service to collect from the purchaser for the use of the City, the tax levied by sections 13-26, 13-27 and 13-28 at the time of collecting the selling price charged for each transaction.
The current tax rate for electricity, water, and bottled gas (natural or manufactured) is ten percent (10%) of the selling price. The current tax rate for telecommunications service is seven percent (7%) of the total amount charged for any service provided within the City.
Sellers of bottled gas should remit the Public Service Tax to the City on a monthly basis by the 15th day of the following month, along with the Propane Gas Public Service Tax Remittance Form.
