2024 Educational Scholarship Awards Recipients
At the June 17 City Council Meeting, Susy Diaz, Councilmember and Chair of the Education Advisory Committee, announced the winners of the 2024 Educational Scholarship Awards. This year, the city awarded ten $1,500 scholarships, including one for an outstanding athlete and another for exceptional volunteer hours.
Per the application requirements, each of the recipients resides in the City of Greenacres and is a high school senior entering college, attending college or a graduate student.

The recipients are ranked by the members of the Educational Advisory Committee, consisting of Greenacres residents Claudia Ayala, Ann Cadaret, Cassius Johnson, Patty Persichilli, and Maritza Sime. The committee also includes non-voting members: student liaisons Jesus Gonzalez from John I. Leonard High School and Leliani Sanchez from L.C. Swain Middle School, along with Dianni Mendez, who serves as the city's representative.
