Important message from the Mayor regarding COVID-19
Dear Greenacres Businesses, as the nation is watching and taking precautions to avoid the spread of the COVID -19, also known as the Coronavirus, so is the City of Greenacres.
The City would like to make sure you know that if you have business to conduct with Greenacres, it may not be necessary to physically come into City Hall. You may be able to take care of your business needs by calling us directly at 561-642-2000 and asking for the respective department you may need.
Most importantly, City Administration asks that you take every precaution necessary to prevent the spread of the virus for your staff and customers. The City is strongly recommending all of our businesses follow and enforce all of the best practices listed below:
Regularly disinfect workspaces.
Provide cleaning supplies like disinfectant wipes, sprays, and paper towels.
Also make sure these items are easily accessible, and that employees are aware of where to find them.
Insist your employees stay home if they have signs and symptoms of any illness.
Make sure ventilation systems are working properly.
Remove magazines and papers from waiting areas or common rooms.
Continuously wipe: sinks, door handles, cupboard handles, railings, objects, counters, etc. with disinfectants.
Practice special distancing of 6’ everywhere possible; for example, if you are a restaurant owner remove some tables to create greater space between guests.
Cancel or postpone any travel, meetings, workshops, etc. that are not absolutely necessary.
The above mentioned steps are just a base point for preventing the spread. The city is also taking all of the above same precautions, in addition to taking some other measures. Please note, there may be other recommended protocols for your specific type of business and that you may obtain more helpful information directly from the Florida Health Department at www.floridahealth.gov/diseases-and-conditions/COVID-19 and the Center for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov.
We understand there is a high degree of uncertainty at this time, however we want to assure you - our priority is our community’s wellbeing and safety. We ask for your participation during the upcoming weeks as we attempt to mitigate the risk of exposure in our community. The City thanks you for your vigilance and participation in the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Mayor, Joel Flores
