Building Milestone Safety Inspections

1996 Balcony Collapse in Hollywood Fl.

The building collapse in Surfside, Florida, has heightened awareness of the need to proactively inspect aging building structures in the coastal areas of Florida, including the City of Greenacres. Now is the perfect time for you to engage licensed Florida design professionals to perform a thorough safety inspection of your building, particularly if it is approaching 40 years of age or older.

Per legislative changes resulting from this tragedy;

The inspection must be conducted by an architect or engineer licensed in Florida for the purpose of attesting to the life safety and adequacy of structural components of the building. The sealed report must be submitted by the architect or engineer to Building Department by December 31 of the same year. Any repairs that are recommended/required in the report must be commenced within 365 days of the report date
