Mobile Food Truck
Florida legislation, Section 509.102 effective July 1, 2020, allows mobile food trucks to operate within the City of Greenacres municipal limits without the need to acquire any additional licensing, business tax receipt or permit beyond a State license (Mobile Food Service) from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Division of Hotels and Restaurants. Mobile food trucks are welcome in the City of Greenacres for the enjoyment of our residents and visitors. However, our local codes, Section 16-721 must be observed to ensure the safety and welfare of all.
Some points to be aware of:
- Mobile Food Trucks are only allowed in the Commercial General (CG) and Commercial Intensive (CI) Zoning Districts,
- Mobile Food Trucks must receive an annual City of Greenacres Fire Department Safety Inspection. Please contact Miguel Aleman, Fire Marshall at 561 642-2141 to schedule this inspection.
- Only one (1) Mobile Food Truck is permitted per parcel
- Mobile Food Trucks shall not operate within 500 feet of a childcare/preschool, elementary, middle, or high school between one hour prior to the start of school and one hour after dismissal of school.
